My truenas nas randomly shut of like yesterday, I don’t understand why yet it was connected to a UPS and the power did not go off.

I realise now this is completely irrelevant but I’m posting it here anyway.

That’s a pretty cool setup. One I don’t recognise is that little crab icon, what is that for?

My everything server had a bunch of virtual machines and I sometime wondered if proxmox would have been a smarter implementation.

Now that it’s dead and I have to start all over; I think start with something like this.

What is the current hypervisor?

Proxmox is fine, but unless you are using advanced features you can likely get away with the standard Debian server with Qemu and Docker/podman.
