Ok…sure…fine.

But why do so many people still use Twitter?

Here’s a TLDR.

I like how the vomit hose guy is receiving emotional support and encouragement

That’s a 2 1/2" hose, it’s a lot for one guy to handle

@UKFilmNerd

I remember when I saw Bicentennial Man in the theater, and it wasn't framed right for the screen. There were portions that weren't meant to be shown, such as shots that included boom mics over the actors. It was weirdly distracting. Had no idea films could contain such material that in this case were in frame.

When they released Back to the Future for the first time on DVD, they got the framing wrong on parts 2 & 3 but only for certain shots.

The most memorable was when Marty had the future jacket on. It beeps with a flashing button at the base of the coat which he presses.

For whatever reason, the shot was framed too high and you can’t see the button or him pressing it. Ruins the whole point of the scene.

Ah yes the BTTF Framing Fiasco!

I remember waiting like 2+ months for my fixed DVD to get mailed.

As I imported mine to the UK, I was worried if they would even honour the replacement discs. Thankfully they did.

I don’t see what’s wrong with some behind-the-scenes making of Mad Men.

givesomefucks@lemmy.world on 02 Dec 16:11 next collapse

the new 4K transfer of mad men on HBO somehow does not have any of the post-production edits added in, which means you get stuff like this where you can see the crew member manning the puke machine after Roger has too many oysters lmao

Makes sense, that stuff was done after the master tapes.

So when they made 4k off the masters instead of upscaling, they forgot about all the stuff that was done.

It’s the reason Lucas changed shit on re-releases, they had to redo a lot of effects, so the older methods were more expensive then the modern standards, and once some stuff is getting updated, adding more stuff you couldn’t do back then doesn’t feel like a big deal, because it’s already different.

OK but let’s not forget that greedo didn’t get a shot off and Han murdered him in cold blood.

If I still had Netflix, I’d watch just to see it. Maybe it will boost views.

Pretty good show, regardless. Here’s an article about the opening titles, AMC was hesitant about showing a businessman falling from a skyscraper, just six years after 9/11: www.artofthetitle.com/title/mad-men/

I’ve seen this happen with 24 - seeing camera crews and other people in certain shots.
