As reported by the digital bits,

In announcement news today, we finally have the official word that Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing NBC’s Knight Rider: The Complete Series (1982-86) on 4K Ultra HD on 7/22. The 21-disc set will include all 90 episodes in their original 1.33:1 TV aspect ratio, plus previously released special features including the Knight Rider (2000) TV movie, and apparently some new features too.

A photoshopped cover 😁 and yours for just under $130.

Part of me is like YYEEESSSSSS!!! And part of me is like, if you watch more than 5 episodes ever it’ll be a minor miracle.

I’ll really be curious to see what this is like. So many shows with modest budgets did NOT do makeup and set design with anything like 4k or HD in mind. Or even VHS. They were made for lo-res 80s broadcast TV. I know some of the Star Trek remasters are pretty awful about that.

I’m just constantly surprised that all these shows were done on film, therefore allowing a 4K scan.

I don't have the ability or interest in 4k, but I'd be into a reissue. This show and its simple motif of fighting corruption in police depts, federal agencies, and corporations still holds up pretty well.
One of those scooby-doo style 'the enemy is the rich and those who seek power' kind of stories, and it's a comfort watch for me.
