Issues with Android Clients since Server Update

Heyoo,

just wanted to ask if anyone else is having this issue or if there is a known fix:

When opening Jellyfin on normal Android Clients, the Area displaying the available Media is reduced by quite a lot.

This is occuring in Portrait and Landscape Mode. It is particularly annoying in Portrait Mode though.

I didn’t update my Server for quite some time. Today I updated and I suspect that the current/newest Version is the culprit here.

Is anyone else experiencing this or has a link to a thread where this issue was already discussed?

Cheers Sailing7

Disclaimer:

Issue is not present on the Android TV Clients.

i know telling you that i don’t see this is not always helpful, but i don’t see this problem on version 10.8.13(im not sure if this is the latest). My first step for a problem like this, is to clear the cache of the android app.

10.9.0 is the latest. It just launched a day or two ago.

It was the Skin Manager Plugin. Changing back to default fixed it.

I will post this answere to every thread, since I want to let everyone know that I appreciate the support and Help that I got from ya’ll.

Thank you a lot!

Also for you in particular: if you used introskipper: its best to wait some time i think. At least my introskipper is not compatible anymore on my 10.9.x instance. On 10.8.x instance it is running. Gotta wait for a update for this plugin i guess.

@Mods since I didn’t find any Rules I simply hope that I didn’t break any.

If there are any, that my post collides with, please let me know.

🤘 You’re good. I’d also suggest posting to the forum. There’s an entire troubleshooting team for stuff like this.

Are you using a CSS theme?

What phone do you have? I just upgraded last night and everything appears to be working like normal. But I did notice that you appear to have a smaller screen size than I do. First I’d try adjusting the display size and see if that helps. You can find that setting (on a pixel) under: Settings -> Display -> Display Size and Text.

You can also try adjusting the accessibility settings and increase or decrease the font size to see if that helps. Which you can find in the same menu above.

Lastly, you might try enabling developer settings and adjusting the smallest width:

Edit: none of these should be final solutions but to help troubleshoot what’s wrong. You can then use what you find with these three options to raise a ticket and hopefully the developers can then narrow down the actual root cause.

This is a known issue with the jellyskin css, on the jellyskin github the owner of it said it would be fixed by the first week of June.
