sadly this release breaks a lot of things for me. a lot of media is unable to play (too many errors. giving up) it works with libvlc (audio delay) but not with exoplayer. the previous version worked flawlessly.

edit: google chromecast with androidtv 4k

Apparently they replaced ExoPlayer in this release.

Replace ExoPlayer with androidx.media3

I’d suggest you file an issue.

Oh same here. It broke exoplayer and it took me a long time investigating until I found this article quite by accident. ☹️

If you file a bug report please do post it here. I’m using MX player which has other problems I’d like to avoid.

…and 0.16.4 is out now to hopefully fix this issue, which the dev has diagnosed as being due to tunneling.

Thank you for highlighting this. A few things have had issues playing today and I could not think why.

My TV just updates apps automatically, so I don’t get that chance to put the possible cause and effect together.
