I will say, if anyone is waiting for things to settle down since 10.11.0, I recently did a migration from 10.10.7 to 10.11.4. That direct upgrade didnโ€™t result in nearly as much of a headache as the initial 10.11.y upgrade. You still need to coax the upgrade with a library scan and missing metadata scan, but itโ€™s actually fine now.
