Can I store the metadata folder remotely

I have all my TV and films stored remotely. However having installed Jellyfin, I’ve noticed that the metadata folder is quite large. Is it possible to stick that all on my NAS too?

Can I essentially have

        volumes:
          - /opt/jellyfin/config:/config
          - films:/data/movies
          - TV:/data/tvshows
          - jellyfinmetadata:/config/metadata

I have it on the external harddrive I got all my media on, set it similar to you within my docker-compose file.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if it was possible. I will try it out shortly.

One thing to note is if you want your drive to go to sleep if unused, already browsing through jellyfin will then wake up the drive, since images for files will be loaded from where you define the metadata to be.

Might not be important to you though.

I’m fine with that. Much better than killing off my SD card
