I mean… Cate Blanchett… 'Nuff said.

CptHacke@lemm.ee on 18 May 15:44 collapse

Strangely, she’s never done it for me. Great actress, just…not physically appealing to me at all. I kind of wish they would have chosen someone else for that role, honestly. I’m probably the only one in the world who feels this way, but…there it is. :P

iltoroargento@lemmy.sdf.org on 18 May 15:56 next collapse

Huh, yeah very interesting. I’ve had a crush on her since Fellowship, Benjamin Button, and her role as Hela in Thor Ragnarok made me swoon for sure lol

Multiple times I’ve told people I think she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve seen on screen.

Albbi@lemmy.ca on 18 May 16:16 next collapse

Nah, I’m with you here. She’s not ugly or anything, just not my type.

Knuschberkeks@leminal.space on 18 May 16:40 next collapse

same here. Great actress, average looks.

AquaTofana@lemmy.world on 19 May 00:09 next collapse

Where do you live that the women you see every day make Cate Blanchett the “average”?!

DosDude@retrolemmy.com on 19 May 08:16 collapse

She doesn’t do it for me either, but in no world is this woman average. She is definitely objectively beautiful. Just not my jam.

Wilco@lemm.ee on 18 May 16:57 next collapse

No, I wondered why they had her so plain. Honestly, a lot of the elf casting was weird.

FenrirIII@lemmy.world on 18 May 23:18 next collapse

Only as (Mommy) Hela did she do it for it.

sheogorath@lemmy.world on 19 May 11:02 collapse

She’s has this otherworldly beauty that when you’re thinking about her it’s like “yea she’s beautiful” but it doesn’t elicit any other feeling. Taylor Swift and Charlize Theron elicit the same feelings from me.

Girl Next Door kind of pretty on the other hand…

Tits have passed the pencil test, I shall remain Galadriel and pass into the West…

PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 19 May 10:39 collapse

Which pencil test is this? The only one I can recall currently involves hair and South Africa.

verity_kindle@sh.itjust.works on 19 May 12:12 collapse

It’s from a 1970s Bette Midler bit about whether or not women should go braless… Take a #2 pencil, lift the breast gently, place the breast over the pencil. If the pencil falls, put those nipples to the wind and get yourself to the nearest nightclub.
