I want to spin up Navidrome on a seperate machine running TrueNas but I’m wondering how to do that. Specifically, I noticed that a lot of the data including ratings and favorites are per-user. That means I’d need to migrate the whole database and somehow manage to point all music files to the correct location on my Nas and so on. Is there an easier way to accomplish that?

TrueNAS will be moving away from Kubernetes/Helm charts to Docker/Docker compose in Electric Eel TrueNAS Scale builds and on. You might want to reconsider this move unless you are gonna stay on an old build of TrueNAS. Not sure what is going on with TrueNAS Core. There are other NAS OS options too.

My experience with migrating data varies dependent on the app. I don’t have experience with Navidrome so I can’t really help there. Using in-app tools to migrate to a new implementation usually has the best results when working with networked data with metadata in a DB.
I wish they would introduce LXC support too. There are some things I just don’t wanna run in docker
