In this image, the burning house represents the bank account of an idiot, while disaster girl represents disaster girl.

Nice.
You could sell this commentary as a meta-NFT, which I guess represents the fourth wall.

Is there any directory to say what it’s worth now?

chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 03 Nov 07:22 collapse

There’s no telling how much it would be worth since there’s no active market for it, the NFT has been owned by the same wallet since its purchase in 2021 and has not been transferred or resold. That wallet currently has minimal value in Ethereum or tokens, and around 2k different NFTs, most of which don’t seem to be very valuable. They are still active, with a transaction from a month ago moving 264k in stablecoins to a crypto exchange.

Good for her. I care little for nft’s but I love to learn that she got her payday.

in what kind of a shithole country do you need $450K to pay off student loans?

FlexibleToast@lemmy.world on 02 Nov 22:12 collapse

It doesn’t say that’s the only thing she used it for…

InEnduringGrowStrong@sh.itjust.works on 02 Nov 22:48 next collapse

Student loans and lots and lots of accelerant.

Creating peace by giving everyone a common enemy. The degree worked.

ok fair enough lets hope its not more than 10K

FlexibleToast@lemmy.world on 03 Nov 00:10 collapse

It’s absolutely more than 10k. When was the last time you checked school prices in the US? I graduated in 2019 from a state school, and it was just under $5000 a semester (that’s not including any dorms or books). Giving government paid for schooling is a hard sell in the US because, on the face of it, it feels like a regressive tax. It feels like giving money to people who are more likely to earn better money in the future and therefore shouldn’t get the handout. It’s hard to convince people to think about it one step further and realize those educated people who now make more will now pay more in taxes. Education gives great returns on investment for the government.

Imagine growing up and getting to be known as disaster girl. 🤣
