Why does blocking accounts not work?

I have blocked “https://piefed.social/u/rss@news.abolish.capital”, because I don’t like seeing their posts. I don’t need to see what a bot posts about politics, and that is an admitted bot account.

But I still get their posts in my feed.

I don’t need AI slop in my feed.

Is there a way to actually block/hide a user?
