dnsforge.de frequently unreliable on my android?

Hiya! I’ve been using for dnsforge.de as my private DNS on my android phone for a year or so, and I’ve noticed about once a day my phone tells me that the dns can’t be reached, and about once a week I can’t access something on my phone without turning off the private dns.

Is this normal? I am in the US and I know they’re in Germany, but I wondered if this happens to everyone or if something is going on with my phone, and if there are other good options?

Thanks!

Does it happen on WiFi or mobile data?

Both, but I think most commonly mobile.

Had the same problem. Contacted the admin who said that I was blocked due to many requests. The problem: They block critical queries sending something like 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1. So the problematic connection cannot be established. That is the intended behavior. But the problematic will keep retrying and therefore you get blocked. When having startet my companies notebook (I got blocked) due to many Windows requests. Don’t know why but the treshold is not high enough

It is 100 requests every 10 seconds

I’m guessing that because both ISPs are reporting it at the same time, this must be on dnsforge’s end or at least some network problem between my locale and germany, yeah?
