Kind of a missed opportunity that those medals were never seen again in the entire rest of the series.
They got melted down to make components for weapons.
It would totally be in-character for Han to spend the rest of the trilogy wearing a medal.
Even when he’s frozen in Carbonite.
They did show Han’s medal in Rise of Skywalker. Leia was going through some of his old stuff including the medal.

They’ll get around to it someday. When they’re running low on content to milk more money out of.
Good point, we need an eight part series on what happened to those medals, with cameos from Ahsoka and Darth Maul and Vader.
